HBK's environmental team supports XTO Energy with program services for various oil and gas related activities on the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation (FBIR) in North Dakota.
Our biologists and ecologists are responsible for conducting environmental assessments mandated under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) including desktop assessments, field surveys of flora and fauna, wetland and stream delineations, raptor surveys, threatened and endangered species habitat evaluations, and mapping of drainage areas and well pad/access road coordinates.
Data collected in the field for projects on the FBIR, is used to draft appropriate NEPA documents (environmental assessments, addenda and/or categorical exclusions) for submission to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) in order to gain approval for well pad development.
