HBK Engineering, LLC was responsible for design and development of approximately 11 miles of 24 inch High Pressure Steel Gas Transmission pipeline construction drawings along the west side of the City of Chicago. The design effort consisted of full utility topographical survey, the creation of existing utility background drawings and pipe design as well as the permitting of the proposed installation through CDOT via the office of underground coordination. The design also consisted of multiple areas requiring deep earth excavation shoring designs for intersections, utility crossings and vault installations.
HBK was also responsible for the data collection of record data of the installation including horizontal and vertical positioning. HBK crews performed the data collection using total station and GPS rover technology during the installation to provide the highest level of accuracy in the depiction of the completed installation.
