HBK's environmental team provided environmental services to Entergy Arkansas, Inc.’s Jonesboro Area EHV project in Arkansas.
The project included the new construction of a 500-kilovolt (kV) and a 161-kV substation, upgrades to existing 161-kV substations and upgrades to 25 miles of existing 161-kV transmission lines.
A desktop analysis, environmental surveys and environmental permitting were conducted for the project. HBK's environmental team coordinated with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality and other local agencies to offer a permitting approach to meet the constricted construction schedule while complying with agency regulations.
Multiple Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) were developed for the different segments of the project. Environmental and SWPPP training was given to the on-site contractors, with HBK's environmental team providing monthly audit visits to ensure compliance with regulations.
