HBK Engineering , LLC performed route development, detailed engineering, permitting and construction support and record drawing development for the relocation of approximately 6,000 feet of an existing 138kV high pressure fluid filled (HPFF) underground transmission line to facilitate PennDOT’s widening of I95 in the Northern Liberties/Fishtown areas of Philadelphia. The design included a Phase 1 study to develop and recommend possible routes and Phase 2 services consisting of topographic survey, PECO manhole investigations, geotechnical investigations, test hole excavations, development of a detailed plan and profile of the proposed installation and coordination with sub-consultants to provide the necessary earth retentions, structural and mechanical engineering to deliver a turn-key design to PECO. HBK also assisted with material procurement, bid development and support and coordination with PennDOT, SEPTA, PWD and private developers.
