As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, HBK Graduate Engineer Eddie Vizcaino was the presenter on Thursday, October 7th for two Museum of Science & Industry Chicago (MSI) Jr. Science Cafes. The virtual events were held with two Chicago Public Schools classrooms comprised of mainly Latinx students.

In each session, Eddie discussed what he does as an engineer, showing the safety gear he wears in the field and CAD drawings. The 4th and 5th graders asked a lot of questions including the salary range for engineers, what is involved in a blackout, and how much education is required to be an engineer.

Eddie shared the story of his professional journey and how much he enjoys his job. He encouraged the students to keep learning and pursue their dreams.

The program, designed by MSI to bring students closer to professionals involved in STEM, has been virtual because of COVID-19.
