This year MARC hosted its annual Meeting and Conference in Chicago. HBK as well as partnering operating units, Quanta Technology and MJ Electric attended the event. The focus this year was in response to the COVID-19 pandemic and upcoming challenges of climate change. Now is the time to "focus on shaping the future of the energy and water industry and the role of regulation and regulators. We must address our present needs while looking to a changing landscape on the horizon and this is why we must start “Building the New Normal”. We have already begun to see unprecedented investments from the recently enacted Infrastructure Investments and Jobs Act which will provide much-needed funding into our grid, pipelines, and other critical infrastructure."
The Mid-America Regulatory Conference (MARC) represents an association of regional organizations of utility and energy regulatory agencies from 14 states that include: Arkansas, Kansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Texas and Wisconsin.
Since 1958, MARC has sponsored an annual meeting and conference of Commissioners and staff from member state agencies, as well as representatives of regulated industries and the public at large, to share ideas and discuss regulatory and policy issues affecting their states, region and the nation.
