HBK IMPACT volunteers assisted clients at the Elmhurst-Yorkfield Food Pantry on Saturday, January 25. Volunteers cleaned and stocked shelves, and assisted customers with choosing selections from the free pantry. They acted as personal shoppers and were particularly helpful in assisting clients with specific dietary needs like gluten-free, low sodium and low salt. After items were selected, volunteers helped bag groceries.
The food pantry offers nutritious selections like meat, dairy, produce and bread in addition to a large variety of non-perishable items and personal care products. In 2019, EYFP distributed 600,000 pounds of food to clients.
