Our community relationships go beyond upgrading wires and pipes. HBK's Employee Volunteer Program, Impact, elevates our employee's passions so we can change the community by directly supporting the people who live and contribute to those communities daily. We are proud to be actively involved in various organizations that drive health, education, and safety across the nation.
Workforce Development
HBK believes everyone deserves a chance to expand or build a new career. As we continue to diversify our talent and the industry workforce, we partner with workforce development programs that create meaningful career opportunities for the students who emerge from the training. We are proud, long-time supporters of ComEd's educational program, "Construct," and partners in its newest program, the "Power Up Academy."
Construct:
Currently, Construct has over 30 participating companies and graduation classes of ~80 students. In 2024, Construct had its highest graduation rate of 97%. HBK has hired 33 since its inception in 2013.
Power Up:
Launching in 2023, HBK partnered with this ComEd-led engineering-based program to prepare students for in-demand technical roles in the energy sector. In its first year, HBK interviewed four of the 16 candidates.
