HBK was pleased to support the Crisis Center of Johnson County, Iowa, in its Third Annual Hunger Banquet on June 12. The event raised funds for the food bank and increased awareness of hunger issues in Johnson County. The Crisis Center Food bank serves nearly 1,200 families each week, nearly 14 percent of people in the county. The unique event matched guests to meals based on a random assignment of income levels. Some guests were served steak and lobster, others were served ramen noodles, and some were served no meal at all. Not only was the event an opportunity to support a worthwhile cause, it also provided a time for reflection and recognition of ones good fortune.
