HBK was proud to join the 2023 Women's Energy Summit to be among leaders in the energy sector and listen to incredible discussions like energetic leaders, the shift to clean energy, and the power of female energy regulators. It was an energetic day filled with thought-provoking discussion, and we were grateful to attend. Additionally, congratulations to our Rising Star, Eileen!
Our interns from The Woodlands office joined the Tomball Emergency Assistance Ministries (TEAM) at its Resale Shop. TEAM is a nonprofit established in 1985 and operates a resale shop and food pantry, providing assistance with food, clothing, shelter, rent and utilities, as well as medical, dental, and prescription needs.
Organized by our intern in our Lake Mary office, a group of HBK volunteers came together to donate their time at the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Together, they successfully packed 1,105 boxes which will provide a total of 14,000 meals.
The interns from our Philadelphia office got together to volunteer at Cobbs Creek Park. Alongside other volunteers, their team worked to tackle the three T's: trash, trails, and trees! They worked along Whitby Avenue and Cobbs Creek Parkway, removing trash from trails, creek, and surrounding woods to preserve this area for all to enjoy and prevent trash from traveling elsewhere in the watershed area.
A group of volunteers from our Denver office were excited to join Habitat for Humanity with a home repair. While Habitat for Humanity is known for building homes, they also partner with existing homeowners on essential home repair projects so that they can live safely and affordably in their homes for years to come. It was exciting and fun to be a part of this program to support their neighbors!
HBK was happy to return to the 15th annual I Gotta Guy Sausage Fest and support the Foundation for Prader-Willi Research this year. We were excited to partake in an evening of live entertainment, food, drinks, raffles, an incredible silent auction, and of course, I Gotta Guy Sausage. All funds raised for the night benefit children living with Schaaf-Yang Syndrome.
While we love making an impact across various nonprofits year-round, we were excited to celebrate this year's National Nonprofit Day by donating to 20 new nonprofits hand-selected and recommended by our passionate employees. Every year, our employees drive our reach and we are proud to support the people in the communities where they live and work.
We are always grateful to join DuPage County and its Adopt-a-Highway program, where we get to help clean our community clean!
