Our volunteers were among 70 professionals sharing insights about their careers and accomplishments in STEAM fields and providing hands-on demonstrations to youth and families at the Museum of Science and Industry Black Creativity Showcase. About 3,500 guests attended the annual event which highlights African American professionals in STEAM fields.
Congratulations to our very own Project Manager, Danny Tucker, for winning the B Final and placing 10th overall at the 2022 Pro Swim Series event over the weekend. On Saturday, Danny raced in the new FMC Aquatic Center in Westmont, Illinois alongside many of the biggest names in swimming, including Olympic gold medalists, Katie Ledecky and Caeleb Dressel. It is a huge honor to be among such a talented community and HBK is proud to support Danny in his passions beyond the office. You can learn more about the event here.
While practicing all necessary safety measures, our Iowa employees gave back to our community partner by meal prepping for the families at the Iowa City Ronald McDonald house. We made a casserole, vegetables, and a fruit bowl to serve 30 people and packaged the food for families to eat later.
HBKers from the Suwanee office helped with trash pick-up along the Chattahoochee River watershed in Sweep the Hooch. They collected over 30 bags full of trash between Lanier Point Park and Longwood Park including large Styrofoam pieces, furniture pieces, plastic bags, and a grocery cart. Tons of trash was removed and recycled by more than 1,000 volunteers. The annual day of service brings people together to give back to the river which provides year-round enjoyment to the community.
