Field Appreciation Pick-up Lunches were held to thank our Utility Locators and Surveyors for their dedication, hard work and commitment to safety and this organization. Lunches were held April 21st at the Carroll Office and April 28th at Oak Creek, WI.
HBK participated in the John Burns Construction Company Annual Charity Shootout on June 4th at the McGraw Wildlife Foundation in Dundee, IL. While some guests fished at one of Max McGraw's stocked lakes, others shot clay targets, or tested their skills at throwing tomahawks and different types of spears at targets on the range.
HBK was pleased to support the Rabine Group Foundation Annual Charity Golf Outing on June 7th at the Bull Valley Golf Club in Woodstock, IL.
HBK partnered with Erie Neighborhood House on June 10th to provide English as a Second Language (ESL) tutoring to adult participants in virtual break out rooms. The time allowed participants the opportunity to practice conversational English.
As we continue to celebrate Pride Month, HBK is proud to support Center on Halsted’s Anti-Violence Project.
The Anti-Violence Project (AVP) at the Center on Halsted empowers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and HIV-affected communities and allies to end all forms of violence through organizing and education, and supports survivors through counseling and advocacy.
HBK was pleased to support the El Valor 28th Annual Don Quixote Virtual Gala on June 23rd. In addition to learning about El Valor’s programs and meeting a few children and adult participants, guests were invited to participate in the evening by preparing a margarita with Chef Carlos Gaytan. Honorees included Matthew Turk of INTREN, who received the El Valor Champion Award. He has been a steadfast supporter of El Valor’s community by assuming leadership roles for fundraising, and other agency needs, at a corporate and personal level.
HBK employees celebrated International Women in Engineering Day June 23rd by taking selfies to support the INWED 2021 campaign. The INWED 2021 theme is #EngineeringHeroes. The campaign seeks to support women in achieving their potential as engineers, encourages women to become engineers, and to work to promote gender diversity and equality in the workplace.
HBK participated in the Iowa Association of Municipal Utilities (IAMU) Golfin’ Fore Scholars Event in Iowa City on June 28th. Congrats to our foursome who won Flight 1, 2nd place with a score of 64, seven under par.
HBK was pleased to support Variety’ Black Hat Bash on June 15th, 2021. Held at Water Works in Philadelphia, the event honored the 2020 Golden Heart of Variety award recipients Allan Dom, Philadelphia Councilmember-At-Large and Edward McBride, PECO Manager of External Affairs.
