HBK volunteers from our Tulsa office kicked off National Volunteer Week by helping sort more than 4,000 pounds of food at the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma on April 20th. The team observed COVID-19 safety measures including wearing masks and social distancing.
HBK was pleased to be among 138 sponsors in the ACE Mentor Program Chicago Student Showcase on April 15th. The virtual program awarded 25 Design Build Workshop apprenticeships, 25 paid internships, and more than $140,000 in scholarships to students entering the STEM fields.
HBK volunteers helped package more than 10,000 pounds of apples at the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD) on April 22nd. The organization acts as the hub for a network of more than 700 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and other programs providing food assistance in Cook County.
31st Street between Jorie Blvd. and South York Road in Oak Brook is cleaner today thanks to efforts by HBK Volunteers on April 22nd. As part of the DuPage County Adopt-A-Highway program, employees cleaned up the area along the highway. Social distancing, face coverings, and HBK PPE Gear was required for participants.
HBK was pleased to participate in ComEd’s CONSTRUCT Infrastructure Academy Virtual Graduation: A New Perspective on the Future on April 26th. The ComEd workforce development program increases the number of diverse, skilled candidates for entry-level employment opportunities in construction and engineering in Illinois.
