Foundation Fighting Blindness Annual Vision Walk


HBK was a proud sponsor of the 14th Annual Foundation Fighting Blindness 5K VisionWalk. Since the inception in the Spring of 2006, VisionWalk, has raised over $51 million to fund sight-saving research. This event allows the continuous funding to vital scientific research and clinical trials that will one day provide treatments, preventions, and currents for retinal degenerative diseases. 

Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation Oysters and Crab Event


On Monday, June 3, HBK attended the inaugural Oyster and Crabs with Cal at Nick’s Fish House in Baltimore, MD. The evening included a buffet, crabs and oysters, live music, whiskey tasting and Q&A with Cal Ripken Jr. All proceeds to this event support the development, construction, and programming at Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation’s newest turf field project at Reedbird Park in Cherry Hill to give underserved kids a clean and safe place to play. 

Casa Central Panel Discussion


Casa Central programmed a week-long series of community based, educational activities centered around its programming, relevant topics of discussion, and resources for their participants and community called the Week of Hope. On Wednesday June 5th, HBK proudly hosted Casa Central’s Building our Future Leaders Community Forum at our Chicago Carroll office.

FWC Women Rock


HBK joined the Federation of Women Contracts (FWC) for its annual Women Rock event at Carnivale in Downtown Chicago on June 6. This event brings hundreds of construction and industry related professionals together for a night of the best networking in the city. The night included evening of incredible food, fun and celebration. This event honors the best and brightest in the construction industry.

JBCC 4th Annual Charity Sporting Clay Shoot


HBK participated in the John Burns Construction Company (JBCC) 4th Annual Charity Sporting Clay Shoot at Max McGraw Wildlife Foundation on June 7. This year, $93,000 was raised. The day included a two person boating team and an array of clay target shooting. All proceeds for this event go to Convoy of Hope, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, From Tragedy to Triumph, Erie House, Chicago Commons, March of Dimes, and Misericordia.

Chicago Children’s Theatre B.O.I.N.G Event


HBK is happy to be a repeat sponsor for the 3rd Annual Chicago Children’s Theatre B.O.I.N.G event. Each year, this extraordinary event celebrates bringing spring into summer with your family! The day includes unique family experiences including a life-sized board game, green screen machines, summertime food, live deejay, and more.

Advocate Children’s Institute Fundraiser Golf Outing


HBK is proud to have participated in the Advocate Children's Institute Fundraiser Golf Outing on June 10. Advocate Children's Hospital's internationally recognized pediatric cardiovascular program is one of the largest programs in the Midwest and attracts patients from around the world. Its multi-disciplinary team of top heart physicians use the most advanced technology and treatment to give young hearts the best possible outcome.

HBK Attends 2019 IHCC Mulligans & Mariachis Golf Outing


The Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (IHCC) hosted its 2019 Mulligans & Mariachis Golf Outing on Thursday, June 6 at Harborside International Golf Center in Chicago. HBK is a proud supporter of the IHCC. The organization empowers entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses.

El Valor Don Quixote Dinner


El Valor 26th Annual Don Quixote Dinner took place Wednesday, June 12 with charitable support from HBK. El Valor was founded in 1973 by Guadalupe Reyes and a group of Pilsen mothers to provide dual language early childhood education, and programming and housing for individuals with disabilities. The organization currently serves over 4,000 families annually. The Don Quixote Dinner is El Valor's most important fundraising event of the year. More than 600 civic, corporate, and community leaders attend to celebrate the organization's work and successes.

Gene Siskel Film Center Annual Gala


HBK was pleased to support the Gene Siskel Film Center with sponsorship of its Annual Gala on Saturday, June 15. Each year movie lovers, civic leaders, philanthropists and Chicago's corporate leaders celebrate the programming achievements of the Gene Siskel Film Center and raise funds for educational initiatives, community screenings and the Center's critically acclaimed film program by honoring a filmmaker who advances the art of cinema. Past honorees have included actors Scarlett Johansson, Ethan Hawke, and Nicole Kidman, and director George Lucas. This year, Actor, Director and Executive Producer Jon Favreau received the Gene Siskel Renaissance Award. The highlight of the event was a conversation led by Actor Robert Downey, Jr.
