Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville, IL hosted the Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering and Development Showcase on Wednesday May 1s. There were 56 different student teams representing 9 locating high schools in the PLTW Engineering Design & Development class to present their projects they have been working on all year.
These projects consist of students working in teams to identify a real-world challenge, followed by months of research with engineering, business professionals, educators and other professionals to develop the best solution for their problem. Students then design and build a prototype and test their solution.
This showcase is the opportunity for students to present their final projects to the public as well as to a panel of engineers, who, along with Project Lead the Way officials, will be judging the various projects. The winners will be awarded scholarship prizes that have been donated by local businesses.
