On Thursday, February 28th employees from our HBK Iowa office attended the 2019 Annual Banquet for the Iowa City Area Chamber of Commerce. The Banquet is the Chamber's largest event of the year and this year it featured a program that reviewed achievements over the past year as well as keynote speaker, Nick Westergaard, Chief Brand Strategist at Brand Driven Digital.
On Friday, March 1st, HBK attended and sponsored the Chicago ACE Mentor Program Luncheon at the Chicago Hilton and Towers. ACE plays a critical role by mentoring Chicago high school junior and seniors from low-moderate income communities, and providing scholarship, internship, and summer engagement opportunities in the fields of architecture, construction, and engineering. HBK was proud to be a part of ACE's mission to provide educational opportunities to all.
On Thursday, March 7th HBK employees in Iowa volunteered at the 2019 Souper Bowl benefitting the Domestic Violence Intervention Program (DVIP). The DVIP rallies community members together to join them in raising funds for victims of domestic violence with this event every year as they have for the past 22 years.
On Friday, March 8th HBK attended another event in a series of events for ComEd's CONSTRUCT program. This Roundtable discussion gave candidates an opportunity to ask experienced members of Human Resources from a number of different companies various questions about potential employment. HBK was happy to attend and be a part of the preparation necessary for these candidates to become ready for employment.
On Friday, March 15th HBK Oak Brook attended the annual St. Paddy's Day Corned Beef & Cabbage Dinner supporting DuPage County Board Chairman, Dan Cronin. This annual fundraiser featured a performance by the Shannon Rovers Bagpipers, Irish Dancers, and a delicious Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner.
