On Friday, November 2nd HBK was a sponsor at Chicago Commons' annual Pour Out Your Heart event. Attendees sipped, dined, and danced all while proceeds from this event benefited programs that provide support to 3,000 people through early childhood education, family centered adult education, and senior services.
On Thursday, November 8th HBK sponsored the 27th Annual Daniel H. Burnham Award Dinner which honored Frank Considine with the first ever Daniel H. Burnham Award for Distinguished Leadership. This award was created by the Board of Directors of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce to pay tribute to prominent business leaders for not only influencing the Chicagoland business climate, but also for civic contributions in making the city a better place to work and live. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Foundation and their programs promoting education and workforce development.
On Thursday, November 8th HBK in Pennsylvania attended the 2018 annual dinner for the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry at the Longwood Gardens. The Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry is a non-profit organization focused on serving the business needs of nearly 800 business members in the Chester County region by representing business and community interests. This annual event draws together business and community leaders to celebrate the Chamber's successes over the past year, as well as looks ahead at future plans of the organization.
Friday, November 9th marked the 8th Annual Business Society Luncheon for Saint Ignatius College Prep at the Union League Club of Chicago. The morning's presentations began with students presenting their best 1-minute sales pitch in front of all the guests and honorees in the hopes to win sponsorship. The breakfast concluded with awards to Ignatius supporters and this year's honorees were William Flood of Flood Brothers Disposal, Al Capitanini of Balanced Asset Strategies, and the DiBuono family of Tufano's Vernon Park Tap. On Friday, November 16th, HBK was a proud sponsor of the Chicago Children's Theatre and their mission to inspire young people to become engaged citizens through the arts and The Power of Play. Research shows that through the power of play and exposure to the arts, children develop their capacity for empathy while ultimately cultivating a more tolerant and inclusive community. Attendees enjoyed dancing to The Ron Burgundy's perform hits from the 60's, 70's, and 80's all while supporting a very worthwhile cause!
On Saturday, November 17th, HBK sponsored and attended the annual NIU Foundation Red and Black Gala. The Red and Black Gala is the NIU Foundation's signature fundraising event celebrating and awarding generous donors, while every dollar raised at the gala supports student scholarships. This year special honoree and recipient of the NIU Presidential Award for Visionary Leadership was Jerry Reinsdorf, owner of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox.
On Friday, November 16th HBK attended and proudly sponsored Misericordia at their Annual Heart of Mercy Ball in Downtown Chicago. Attendees enjoyed the evening with good food, great company, and featured awards to various recipients, including the "Pillars of the Community Award" given to ComEd for their outstanding work benefiting the community. HBK sponsored the Cook County Health Foundation's fundraiser, A Night Out for County Health, on Friday, November 9th at mHUB Chicago. The Cook County Health Foundation Associate Board aims to ensure that all community members have access to quality healthcare. It is through fundraisers such at this, that they are able to provide programs and services that improve the quality of patient care and also create a foundation for future philanthropic support. On Tuesday, November 13th, HBK’s CEO Ron Kaminski as well as other HBK employees joined over 200 children at the 3rd annual Macy's Operation Happy Children event. Grade School students, including those in pre-school and kindergarten, were treated to breakfast in the Walnut room, face painting, and a visit with Santa to kick off the holiday season.
