On Tuesday, September 11th, HBK employees came together to make Christmas Trees for military men and women who cannot be home with their families for the holidays. The trees are only part of a larger care package, organized by volunteers supporting Trees From Home, in an effort to bring a little holiday cheer to those serving overseas.
On Wednesday August 12th, HBK attended the Metropolitan Planning Council Annual Luncheon. Keynote speaker, Lonnie G. Bunch III, founding director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and former president and director of the Chicago History Museum, discussed how history and culture are essential to a vibrant community and healthy economy. Joy Bivins, Chief Curator of the International African American Museum, joined Lonnie in conversation too.
On Friday, September 14th, HBK attended the Butterfield Golf Classic at Glendale Lakes Golf Club in support of Butterfield Park District. Proceeds from this event will benefit safety and education efforts by providing scholarships for high risk children, maintaining safe playgrounds and equipment, offering transportation and field trips, as well as implementing before/after school programs.
On Saturday September 15th, HBK was a proud sponsor of the 1st Annual Ledcor Cares Chicago Golf Fundraiser at Orchard Valley Golf Course.
On Saturday, September 15th, HBK was one of the many companies present at the the ComEd Microgrid Showcase and Career Fair for the Bronzeville neighborhood. Attendees throughout the community had the opportunity to discover jobs across various industries, including those the energy field. The ComEd microgrid is helping to make Bronzeville a leader in energy technology.
