HBK participated in the virtual American Heart Association 2020 Metro Chicago Heart Walk on Sept. 18. HBK walkers teamed with Com Ed in the event which was held virtually because of the pandemic. Walkers tracked their steps digitally via the Heart Walk app. Many walked at home with pets, family, or friends, and some joined in small groups to walk together. The re-imagined Heart Walk was the biggest ever, bringing together 1 million walkers from across the nation.
The American Heart Association is the nation's oldest and largest voluntary organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke. A shared focus on cardiovascular health unites the more than 33 million volunteers and supporters as well as more than 3,400 employees. The organization's size and scope has made a real impact with more than $4.1 billion being invested in research, more than any U.S. nonprofit organization.
