Community Involvement
Rebuilding Together
Rebuilding Together is the nation’s leading organization bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners by providing free repair services for those with the greatest need. Each year (since 2004), HBK Engineering has participated in the organization’s annual signature event, National Rebuilding Day. This event occurs on the last Saturday of April and is the culmination of many months of planning, evaluating, training, organizing, and assembling volunteers (HBK employees) to repair and restore a pre-selected house (often dilapidated or in much needed repair) of a low-income, disabled and elderly neighbor in their community.
Merit School of Music
Merit School of Music provides high-quality music education to students in metropolitan Chicago. Its primary goals are to help young people achieve their full musical potential, to remove economic barriers to participation, and to stimulate personal and educational growth through music. Merit’s programs are provided without regard to national origin, race, religious belief, gender or physical handicap.
West Loop Community Organization
Building a Sense of Community…Chicago's West Loop Neighborhood is home to businesses and residents who enjoy a dynamic and rapidly growing urban environment. The West Loop is one of the fastest growing neighborhoods in Chicago. It is home to thriving restaurants, shops, a burgeoning gallery district, and spacious residential lofts.
The West Loop Community Organization (WLCO) is the definitive resource for current issues and events in the West Loop community. Residents, visitors, and businesses have an active voice in decisions affecting the neighborhood - parks, development, schools, traffic, safety, and more. The WLCO is constantly working to ensure positive growth for the neighborhood.
HBK is a proud member of the WLCO and participates in the organization’s banner program which places corporate banners throughout the West Loop area.
